About us

Rakesh Khanna and Associates was set up by Rakesh Khanna, a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1986. He did his professional training with Messrs S. K. Kandhari and Company, a leading firm of Chartered Accountants and also started his career with them. During his tenure he handled several statutory and internal audits independently and gained substantial exposure to tax matters and representations before tax authorities.

In September 1986, he joined Cox & Kings (India) Ltd., a leading travel and tours operations Company, having four business units spread over 13 branches in India and overseas offices in UK, USA and Japan, with a staff strength of over 600. Having commenced his career as the Chief Accountant for Delhi office, he was elevated in his 15 year career span to Financial Controller in 1990, Vice President – Finance in 1995 and Director – Finance in 2000. During this period, the company grew from a turnover of Rs 10 crores to Rs 350 crores.

His Accomplishments Included:

• Developing a robust and advanced accounting system
• Developing a comprehensive Management Information System
• Implementing best practices in areas of reporting, general accounting and internal controls
• Financial planning and management to enable rapid growth
• Effective tax planning and personal handling of tax assessments
• Successful handling of legal matters for MRTP, FERA and Company Law related issues.

He was also involved in business strategising and fulfilling larger organisational goals with specific focus on cost optimisation, process improvement and finance re-engineering.

The objective of setting up Rakesh Khanna and Associates in 2001 with a team of professionals, was to provide quality and depth in the range of services offered, enabling its clients to successfully pursue their business and financial goals.
